But the whole Breeze vape ban saga didn't start today. Neither does it involve only Breeze.

On May 25, 2023, the FDA issued warnings to Breeze Smoke LLC, the owner of Breeze Pro, and Shenzhen Innokin Technology Co. Ltd., the producer of Esco Bars. Reason? These companies had no authorization to sell vapes in the United States.

The FDA requires all new tobacco products, including products containing nicotine from any source, to file a Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA).

One would expect that a giant in the e-cig industry like Breeze Smoke would have acquired such a critical document after operating in the US market for years. But news flash, Breeze hadn't. And hence the warning from the FDA in May 2023, demanding that the company file an application.

Unfortunately, Breeze Smoke was denied PMTA approval after submitting the PMTA application, meaning Breeze vapes are unauthorized for sale. The company went on to file a lawsuit against the FDA, but this also proved abortive. Hence, Breeze has been discontinued in the United States.

It's intuitive to imagine that the discontinuation of Breeze vapes must be related to product quality or health risks. But that's far from the truth.

As a matter of fact, Breeze vapes have consistently been named as one of the best disposable vapes and are loved by users.

The reason for Breeze vape's ban is more far-reaching, affecting not just Breeze Smoke LLC but many other flavored disposable e-cigs.

· In 2024, flavored vapes aka unauthorized e-cigs sales accounted for 70% of e-cigarette sales in the US. With the current war against flavored e-liquids, a colossal decline in sales and revenue will hit vape businesses and the entire US vape industry.

· Retailers having stock left will have a problem selling it. By the way, some stores are already doing clearance sales for flavored disposables, so it's smart to take advantage of the discount to stock up on your favorite products before they finally leave the shelves.

· What are the odds that black markets won't be created for these "unauthorized" vapes? And if so, that means unregulated products would hit the streets illicitly, making it even easier for teens to acquire.
