Our beloved enigmatic founder, Octavius Q. Vapes, is famous for many things. In 1847, during a daring expedition into the Amazon to re-supply the British Royal Army with more of his patented Savory Chewing Vapors, our founder, (and his faithful assistant Armando De Le Hoya,) came across an unpassable, mighty river, full of man-eating piranha. Octavius knew all too well that he and Armando would be eaten in seconds if they attempted to ford the river. Octavius—being an inventor through and through—quickly fashioned a complicated pully system out of the spare parts for their small wagon, and grabbed as many snakes from the surrounding area as he could find, tying them together to form a makeshift rope for their pulley. They successfully crossed the river, and only lost seven men in the process.
In honor of his ingenuity, we dedicate every Monday to some of the devices we feel he would have loved best.
