SnowWolf AFeng Review, Removable Battery in a Pod?

Yes you read that title right, the newest Snowwolf Pod Device is powered by a removable 18650 battery! Unlike the other removable battery pod device, the DotMod AIO, you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for the privilege of using the Snowwolf logo.

Built with an IFV smart chip, this device can automatically adjust its wattage output to provide the best flavor possible. With its mesh coils and removable 18650 power source, this device is shaping up to be something special.

But how does the Snowwolf AFeng measure up against other pod devices?

The Looks

I have yet to see a device come out of Snowwolf that I didn’t like the look of, from the VFeng to this latest pod device, they all feature robust color schemes with flashy designs. If you’re looking for a device that’s going to turn heads everywhere you go, Snowwolf has you covered. But with the AFeng they seem to have dialed back on the in-your-face designs a bit, in a good way!

Snowwolf AFENG

Instead of a pop-out logo like they had on the Mfeng kits, the Afeng features a subtle wolf logo that's slightly raised from the surface of the device. Just enough to provide a nice tactile feel when you run your fingertips across it. On the back of the device is a magnetic battery bay panel that features a diamond style pattern across it. There’s also abundant battery venting ports on both the sides and the bottom of the device.

Afeng Colors

The Afeng is available in a variety of colors, so there’s sure to be one for you! I’m very partial to the champagne gold look, I think it makes this device look like it was designed by Gucci or some other high-end designer.

How it Works

So the interesting thing about the AFeng is that, while utilizing an 18650 battery, there’s no adjustable wattage, it’s all controlled by the pods IFV chip. Now, this may seem like a drawback to some of you, but I can assure you that the smart control chip does a fantastic job of regulating the wattage to give you the perfect hit. I’ve vaped on 50+ pod devices over the past few months and there’s only a handful that I would consider to be valid for flavor chasers. I’m happy to say the AFeng is one of them!

The taste I get from the AFeng is right on point with a device like the GeekVape Bident or the SMOK Trinity Alpha, which is always a pleasant surprise with these salt nic devices. Not to mention the coils are lasting longer than I might’ve expected given the sweet E-Liquid I’m vaping. There’s even a proper adjustable airflow control valve at the bottom of the pod section, so you can get the precise type of vape that you want, all the way down to an MTL style draw.

At the end of the day I think my favorite feature about the AFeng is that removable battery. A big drawback for many pod devices on the market, due to size constraints, is their short battery life. The Snowwolf throws minuscule size out the window in favor of better functionality, and I think it really comes through in the day to day usage. No more having to wait for your pod device to recharge, just throw a new battery in and you’re good to go!

Plus it’s USB C rechargeable, so in the event that you don’t have a spare battery, you can charge the one you already have relatively quickly.

The Verdict

If you’re looking for a salt nic device, and you’re not overly concerned about size, you should definitely check out the Snowwolf AFeng. It has the power to last with you through multiple days of usage and the swappable 18650 batteries mean you’ll never have to wait for a recharge. The flavor production is on par with the top devices on the market right now and the IFV chip means you’ll have all the safety features of a full-sized mod.

All in all, I think the AFeng is a solid pod/mod perfect for all you utilitarian vapers out there.
