FAQ

What is CBD Hemp?

It has been found that the Cannabis sativa plant contains over 80 chemicals called cannabinoids. The most famous component of cannabis is Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Hemp, a type of Cannabis sativa plant with little THC, is the plant from which CBD is derived. As with THC, CBD influences some brain chemicals, but differently. CBD is non-psychoactive, making it an excellent choice for those looking to relieve pain or anxiety without getting stoned to the bone!

The prescription form of CBD is mainly used for epilepsy (seizure disorder). In addition to anxiety and pain, CBD is also used to treat Dystonia, Parkinson's disease, Crohn's disease, and many other conditions. And while there really isn't any significant scientific evidence for these uses, CBD does wonders anecdotally as CBD research is still limited.

Different Types of CBD?

- CBD Isolate

The purest form of CBD is CBD isolate. Those interested in testing out the potential health benefits of CBD without the interference of other cannabis compounds may find it appropriate. Additionally, CBD isolates are refined and tasteless.

- Full-Spectrum CBD

Unlike pure CBD, full-spectrum CBD contains all the compounds in the cannabis plant, which may result in a more potent effect. It has been suggested that CBD's health benefits are more prominent when multiple compounds from the cannabis plant are present; researchers call this the "entourage effect." Full-spectrum CBD products may contain some THC, but generally in low quantities, less than 0.3%. It is possible, however, that as the CBD concentrates, the amount of THC may increase. It is essential that you research CBD products and look for independent test results (COAs) before purchasing.

- Broad Spectrum CBD

In addition to full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD contains additional cannabis plant compounds. There are usually no or very small amounts of THC in broad-spectrum CBD products, while full-spectrum products should have less than 0.3% THC. Due to the entourage effect, broad-spectrum CBD products may be more likely than CBD isolate to produce beneficial health effects.

What are COA's & Why Are They Important?

Certificates of Analysis are reports from accredited laboratories detailing the chemical analysis of substances like CBD. In most cases, each batch of CBD product is tested individually, and a COA is generated for each run. It is important to always check COAs when buying CBD as not all CBD is created equal and knowing what is actually inside is crucial.

How Long Does it Take for CBD Gummies to Kick In?

Edibles are tricky when talking about the time it takes to start working. When eating THC & CBD, it is metabolized by your liver, meaning it must make its way through your digestive tract before it starts taking effect. The short answer is at least an hour; the long answer is that everyone and every product is different and may vary. We suggest waiting at least 2 hours before popping another gummy!

Side Effects of CBD?

- Cottonmouth

The most prevalent side effect you may experience is dry mouth or "cottonmouth." This occurs when your body doesn't naturally produce enough saliva, leading to a dry or sticky feeling in your mouth. While this is not dangerous, it is mad annoying! So make sure you keep a glass of water nearby!

- Diarrhea

Rarely, you may experience some diarrhea when experimenting with CBD. As stated, everyone is different and CBD affects everyone's body different. If you are taking small doses and experiencing diarrhea, then CBD may not be for you. However, the main reason for diarrhea is too large of a dose. Try halving or even taking a quarter of your past dosage to see if that fixes the problem!

- Appetite Changes

Another side effect you can experience is change in appetite. While CBD doesn't inherently give you the munchies like THC, it can still affect the way in which you eat. CBD will help calm your nervous system and digestive tract which in turn may make you eat more if you feel less nauseated more regulated.

- Drowsiness

Because CBD helps promote calmness and well-being, some users may experience drowsiness or overall tiredness. CBD's anxiety-reducing properties make it a useful substance when managing stress and can make one feel like their becoming drowsy. Make sure to experiment so you know your limit!

CBD Oil vs CBD Gummies

Let us now breakdown the two powerhouses in the CBD space, CBD oil & CBD gummies. While both are quality mediums to ingesting CBD, oils & gummies are made for two different users. CBD gummies are for those who like longer lasting effects and a fixed dosage per serving. And CBD oils are made for those who want a faster acting medicine while offering more customization in terms of dosage.
