The New Joyetech Runabout: Review

The New Joyetech Runabout: Review

By Guru

Joyetech Runabout Pod system:

Joyetech is a company which need no introduction to vape world. My choice of vaping is MTL and after using JUUL (expensive, no refillable pods, leaks and spit backs), Eleaf iCare2 (disappointed with the spit back and not enough power) and Suorin Air (same complain not enough power) I ordered 2 of these Joytech runabout (Marble and Blackwood).

What’s in the box:

Device, 2 pods (1 installed already), charging cable and instruction manual everything neatly packed in a tube.

Instructions for first use:

Fill the pod by removing the side stopper and gorilla bottle tip fits perfectly (I used Naked100 American patriots and Django 13 salts). Post filling it leave it for 4 minutes for the cotton to wick.
Charge the device using supplied cable (Charging is breeze, gets fully charged in close to 45 minutes)
There is a sticker on the installed pod which need to be removed.

Look and Feel (9/10):

The white marble and black wood looks lovely except for the shape (the only minor concern is you cannot make it stand on table L and always need to lay it flat)

Build quality (9/10):

It is solidly built and feels comfortable in hand. There are no flimsy parts and I dropped it couple of times already and its holding good.
The Coils are silicone and comes with a pre-installed 1.2 Ohm coils.
Note: EighVape has excellent prices on the pods (10$ for 5)

Operation (8/10):

5 clicks to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off.
When it is  on 3 clicks will let you go-to standby where you can change the LED light (good to have feature I say)

Vaping experience (9/10):

As mentioned earlier my preferred method of vaping is MTL (I own several MTL tanks for my everyday use Berserker. Berserker Mini, Siren GTA, SXK Kayfun paired with blacknote eliquids at 12mg) and when I need to be discreet or need to good nicotine hit I was looking for a pod system.
The supplied pods comes with 1.2 ohm built in coil and filling the pods is easy and I did not encounter any spills.
The mod is powered at 15W and coupled with 1.2ohm coil works charmingly.
The draw is close to tight and I was very impressed with the throat hit and amount of vape this little device generates. At 35 mg I got my needed nicotine fix in 2-3 puffs J.
From the time I started using the runabout it has become my go-to device for Nic salts and before my first pod died I emptied ½ bottle of Naked100. That’s a stellar performance and the pod was able to perform the same from first puff till the end. There were spitbacks post refill for first couple of puffs and refer to the tips section for avoiding it.

Overall: 9/10

This little device performs impressively and I recommended this to couple of friends already. 1 pod lasts easily for 15-20ml of Nic salt which is again positive sign. If you are looking for discreet mod for Nic salt here it is. You will not be disappointed.

Tips on avoiding spitback:

After refill the pod let it settle for 5 minutes and cover the pod with paper towel and take some empty hits. This will suck all the extra juices out and you do not encounter spitbacks.
